Get More Bang for Your Buck with the Ford Escape

Whether you are on your everyday commute or are ready for adventure, it's best you get something that's affordable, efficient, comfortable, and simply fun to drive. You will find all those attributes in the latest Ford Escape. Here at Star Ford we not only sell new Ford Escape SUVs, we also offer rentals as well. So, whether you would like the Escape to become a fixture in your driveway, or you just need it for the weekend, we have you covered.

As a compact crossover SUV, the Ford Escape is amazingly spacious. With two rows of seats to accommodate up to five people, passenger space in the cabin is measured at 98.7 cubic feet. And even though standard cargo volume-which is measured between the rear seats and the liftgate-is 34 cubic feet, the rear seats have a 60/40 split-folding design to fold them down and expand it to 68 cubic feet. That way, you will never run out of luggage or grocery-bag space.

Also, you will get more than enough power under the hood to get you from Streator to Morris. Three engines are lined up in front of you: the 2.5-liter Duratec inline 4-cylinder (I4) engine with 168 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque, the 1.5-liter turbocharged EcoBoost I4 with 179 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque, and the top-of-the-line 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost I4 with 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. All are lively workhorses from merging you into traffic or switching lanes quickly and effectively.

Combined with these potent engines are an independent MacPherson strut front and double-lateral-link rear suspension and power-assisted steering, which are configured to provide a tight feel and controlled cornering. These components ensure that the Ford Escape one of the most athletic performers in the compact crossover SUVs around.

And if you don't want to stick with the standard front-wheel drive, you can opt for the Intelligent Four Wheel Drive. Unlike other vehicles in its class, which offer the all-wheel-drive option to conquer surfaces made slippery by rain, snow, or ice, the Ford Escape goes a step farther by also performing wonderfully on trails or rocky surfaces with its four-wheel drivetrain.
